Best lease purchase around If you don’t make money here, your doing something wrong. Trucks are not that high compared to other companies the area.

Big Cat, I've been with Blair for 2 years in May. I run out of the Columbus Ms office and pull out of the Severstal Mill in Columbus. I can tell you that with my experience with them there have been no surprises. Everything we (a friend and I leased on at the same time) were told when we talked to them at the beginning, has been exactly as we were told before we leased on. Everything so far has been positive. What office will you be running out of?

The only thing I can think of to tell you is that our CSA score had gotten away from where Blair wanted it to be and they were making us get tractor and trailer annually inspected once a month. That was a little aggravating but it was at there expense. They have since dropped that back to every 2 1/2 months as long as you havn't gotten any violations in any roadside inspections.

I mainly run short haul stuff out of the mill in Columbus. About 99% coils to the customer and empty back to grab another load. Pay is 70% pulling their trailer and 77% with your own. I've been really satisfied so far. I'm really never around the drivers that are not out of the Columbus office so can't help you much there. I talked with Meghan, the recruiter in Birminham, before I leased on and she was straight up and honest with the questions I had.

I'm an owner operator and signed on with Blair Logistics in February. I own 4 trucks and had 1 with Blair, which I drove myself.

1st thing you want to know is that they have some of the cheapest loads in the industry.

2nd thing you want to know is that you will deadhead (drive empty) approximately 1000 miles a week, without being paid!

To the guy in GA I say stay away!! There are no loads coming out of GA so you will have to travel a few hundred miles for free every time you want a load from home, and travel home for free. GA is a no go zone for Blair for some reason.

3rd thing you will want to know EVERY LOAD IS A TARP LOAD. I've had customers tell me the load didn't need to be tarped but the dispatcher said it had to be. When I got to cosignee I asked and no tarps were ordered.

Yesterday, after I dropped my load in TN, I called the dispatcher to let him know I was empty. Wanted me to drive 250 miles to Birmingham to get a load. I checked the free load boards on the internet and found a load 70 miles from me paying way better than the company load.

Blair does have a lot of work. That's because they charge their customers way below industry rates. Since being there and working every single day I've had one load pay over $1200 and that was a load going from Alabama to California.

If you wanna tarp every load and work your ### off and make the same $$ as Vans then Blair is for you.

They sell the company well, try to say it's all owner operator run. How can that be if you have a lease purchase program?

They try to say it's 50 50 tarp and they get tarp pay... lol Yeah when you start working you'll figure it's all tarp and no extra money for tarping.

I'm a fleet owner and I pay my drivers better than anyone else, because I am a driver also and try to be fair. I want to treat people and pay them what I would want to make. I couldn't figure out a way to pay a driver enough top have one drive for Blair. My flatbed guys make between $1500 and $2200 a week and have never tarped a load. A truck will not make enough for me to pay a driver working with Blair.

Yeah you can make $2000 to $3000 a week driving for Blair, but you will not be home every week. And forget about a paycheck the week you do go home.

The company claims the owner operators are the customer and of course the loads come from customers but we really work for owner operators.

You'll find out differently very soon after joining.

That load I found in TN on the internet was paying me $4,000 to go to Midland TX. I had the broker call my dispatcher to set up the load for me. The dispatcher turned it down. I called he said they wanted to find me a load coming towards Birmingham. That was the last straw with me. I own trucks to make money not to go where a dispatcher wants me to.

I've been with them for 2 weeks now and the only problem I have with them SO FAR is that they don't seem top pre plan you on any loads and honestly, it's starting to irk me...

Anyone that says Blair has decent frieght is a recruiter at Blair logistics or a company driver. I was with Blair for 3 months and averahed $500 a week as an owner operator. I had to pay the driver in my other truck out of my pocket because i was ashamed what his paycheck would be coming from Blair. We worked out of the Birmingham, Al main office. Mostly hailing coils. 90% of the freight is tarped! Anyone anyone telling an owner operator to work at Nlair is a recruiter at Blair. Most of the posts saying good things about Blair is from recruiter at Blair or that trainer. If you ate gping to drive a company truck and like to tarp then Blair Logiatics may be the company for you. Look at the replies to everyone's question about Blair and they're cut and paste. Exactly the same.
