A highly unethical, criminal company, screwing over their customers every chance that they get. Stay away from these crooks! Customer service lies to the customers through their teeth. They hijack freight and sit on it indefinitely. Miss pickups with no communication regularly. Break down palates they are not supposed to. Repack on inappropriate palates. Damage freight. The only thing that you can count on wit these guys is to get screwed over!

Pros

Not very many. Lower prices.

Cons

Damage, missed pickups, missed delivery promises, sever service delays.

I'm a city driver in Florida so I'm home every night. I took this job over another because it's close to my home. Looking back, I might have taken the other job. The tractors are new, mine is a year old, but the trailers are another story. One is a bigger piece of junk than the next. Maintenance on all of the equipment is non existent. Bald tires, lights out, fed inspections overdue for months and the answer is always the same. You can drive the truck as is or you can go home and get written up for it. We recently got a good raise so the pay isn't bad, but the equipment is. Managers are ok, but always pushing you to go faster whether it's pick ups, deliveries or moving freight on the dock. The medical benefits are expensive and don't cover everything.

Pros

Home every day, pay isn't bad.

Cons

Trailers are junk, nothing is repaired.

We were team for just over 6yrs- outlasted every team that was there when we started(& plenty came and went while we were there); we outran most of the teams most of the time(our choice). Our experience working there: They have been upgrading most of the tractors, but you still have to be proactive with the shops to keep maintained. They do have some new trailers, most are older and raggedy - again, up to you to get with the shops for repairs. They ran us as much as we wanted to, we stayed out weeks/ months at a time(again, length of time our choice)- work harder not much iif issues with home time. There are definite ups & downs.... We would still be there, had i not gotten screwed over and put out of my job because of bad info from our HR person; who never apologized nor admitted responsibility. Would we ever go back to them? Nope, they lost one of the best teams they could've asked for.

Pros

For linehaulers or teams- LTL so no shippers/receivers. Mostly newer tractors, they will work you as much as you want if you ask for it. Most we dealt with in person were decent, as well as some of our regular dispatchers.

Cons

Down sides: have to have a LOT of patience to deal with stupid crap, dispatchers constantly changing what you're going to run(which can/ does happen from time you get paperwork to before you can get out of the yard). Majority of the trailers have seen far better days. Be careful who you get info from/trust info for; HR gave bad info to me directly, in regards to issue that could affect me keeping my job(regarding dot physical) stupid me trusted her, she repeatedly insisted i would NOT lose my

Central Transport

Q: Anyone familiar with this company? They have an opening for line haul, dedicated out of Phoenix. Wouldn't mine applying if it's still available when I move there.

A: Phoenix is OK...Tucson OK

Decent equipment, plenty of work..The TM Cole is a complete tool idiot, but if you go linehaul you wont have to deal with him much...Pay is close to all the others here, they have 2 linehaul runs, a quick one which gets you about 4 hours on the dock, and a run to rialto ca, which leaves no room for dock...

Ins sucks, def get your own at united or somewhere..cheaper better

Central Transport equipment?

The only reason they're still in business is because it's Ot after 55. The health insurance is the owners insurance company so you're basically paying him back when you get paid. The equipment is kept until it's no longer usable and they suck!
