Good company, you do okay, You can do better somewhere else tho. LS hire,s Way to many O/O so it’s really hard to book loads here, LS Agents sell LS loads to outside carrier,s to make more money, A lot of 3rd & 4th party freight LS Agents use C.H. Robison & T.Q.L. Logistics, 80% of LS loads are all broker loads very little direct customer freight anymore, LS claim,s best of the best in drivers & agents , That’s not the case anymore. LS likes to hire paid off lease & company drivers who went O/O & hold there hand every step of the way.

Pros

Its “ Yes or No “ when you call the LS agent, Mostly NO everytime cause they keep the load on there LS board days later after it’s been booked..

Cons

In the real world of Truckng calling a real truck broker, you talk about miles, weight, money, fuel, expensive NOT Yes or No or Please Hold

I enjoy pulling for Landstar. if there's an issue with one of their trailers, just call and it gets fixed. They let you know if anything is needed on your part as an O/O like compliance issues. You book your loads, so you determine your home time. plenty of freight.

Pros

you choose your freight and where you want to go

All owner/operator co. NO DISPATCHERS!! YOU find and book you're own loads. I pull they're trailer. They maintain the trailers well!!! I've been driving 22 yrs. Best company I've EVER worked for. The sky is the limit on how much you make!!!

Pros

Landstar Questions

There is no per mile rate, just percentage. If you pull van( you didn't specify) you get 65% of the linehaul. If you own your own van, you get 72%. If you take a few days off, you keep the trailer. If you're going to take 3 weeks off, they will most likely send someone to get it and you'll go find one when you come back out. There are terminals in IL, TX,, IN, FL, GA,PA, and I think NV. Some agents have their own private yards. Landstar is just the corporate middleman, all of your work comes from agents.
