I have caught the boss in so many lies..he will basically lie to your face..so the you talk to his boss & he doesn't care about anything you say..they can't keep drivers..I've been here 6 months & I've seen 13 people go..yard is tight but you get blamed for any damage..I heard that they only give 30 cent raises..I'm up for a raise, will check back soon..but go run elsewhere!

Pros

No pros so far.the pay is bare minimum in this state..not reaching the salary of a cdl yard hostler by 5 bucks

Cons

I am working 60 hours a week & that's the only thing that keeps me here because,I am getting the check I need. though I have to work 72 hours a week at times because people call off & your boss will call you on your day off.

They can't get people to show up so plan on getting a call on all of your off days. And who knows when your off days will be? It will change every week. Boss buddy gets most weekends off. Boss will ask you to move trailers that are broken then write you up for breaking them. The guy who missed the most work and backstabbed the boss the most and screwed up trailers all the time got to be boss. It was like having a 35 year old punk who acted like a 10 year old most of the time.

Pros

Pay was decent.

Cons

Liars in management. Promises of raises, bonuses, but not given. Ever-changing schedule. Boss that doesn't back you. Liars didn't give OT so I was ripped off $10k+

Equipment is old. Work average of 60 hrs. No overtime pay. Can't take time off. If they call you in early or on your day off they will give you the worst shift the following week if you say no.

Pros

Some of the managers, but eventually they will get rid of them. Other employees. Not over the road.

Cons

Do not care about their employees. The new managers have no idea what they are doing, if they show up. Corporate does not listen if there is a problem. It does not matter if you have work there a year or ten years they don't care they will fire you for no reason.

Lazer Spot

Its not over the road we mostly do yard management IE trailer spoting and also some trailer shuttleing localy. Its a good company to work for if you ever get tired of the open road and want to be home every night.

Lazer Spot

Be careful with what you get into with this company. Being a truck driver and a yard dog are two totally different worlds!

Currently I make $15/hr + OT after 40 and every bit of that is earned! It's bad enough you get 10 + moves over the radio while trying to complete the first 3 moves inbound/outbound gave you. Then on top of the next 10 moves you might get 4 more to boot! Also forget about ignoring the radio, the warehouse will just send a team out to flag you down and hand you yet a new list of 5 + moves. Before you know it, you will fall behind and to make it worse. . . the warehouse may have you deliver messages to drivers that their load is ready. Oh, yeah and if you need to fill a spot with an empty trailer you will have to find it all the while getting more moves over the radio.

It's very annoying work and allot of pressure to move trailers. The warehouse makes those truckers sit for 5, 10, 15 hours + but don't even think about making the warehouse wait to have a trailer moved. Then we also run out of space for the trailers, oh, well. . . then we start parking them in the parking lot meant for CARS! It's a blast trying to negotiate around those aisles and planters.

Lazer Spot itself is not bad it's the clients! My site needs two driver for both shifts or you'll get nothing done.
