Decent bunch of people to work with. Worked with Wisconsin crew for 3 1/2 years, no job is perfect but they worked with me good. Theres alot in trucking they cant control, but they tried pretty hard to keep me happy. Was home when I wanted, pretty much got the runs I wanted, after I was there a year or so and put my time in. Settled up with me fully when i left too, what more can a person say??

Pros

New trucks and trailers, support staff worked good with me, tried to keep me happy.

Cons

They run alot of broker loads, which can add alot of bs to your week, alot of live load and unload, burns up your week too.

Very New Trucks and Trailers, Great Consistent Pay, Consistent Long Runs. Family owned company that actually cares about its drivers. 401K with a 4% company match is great for my retirement.

Pros

Pay, Home time, Easy Freight, Good Family

Cons

I wish someone in the industry would fix the APU issue that all companies seem to be having.

I would say that Leonard's is a pretty decent company to work for, they're not great, but they're decent. When it comes to home time, most of the time, dispatch is willing to work with you, but if you get certain dispatchers they won't, more specifically, the main guy for local drivers (he may be the driver manager, not entirely sure), he doesn't care if you run out of time on your clock just as long as the load gets delivered, and he will use threats to get you do what he wants, e.g. "You're not allowed to say that you will run out of time, You're not the one that has to deal with the customers when they don't get their product, if you don't deliver this we will fire you.", this was something he said to me personally. This happened multiple times before I called him out on it and said, "then consider this my resignation", and hung up, (this conversation took place over the phone by the way), shortly after I received a voicemail, (I refused to pick up the phone when he called back about 30 minutes later), with him apologizing for what he said and trying to get me to take back my resignation. I did only because the pros outweighed the cons. In terms of home time, I have worked both regional/long haul, and local, if I wanted to be home that weekend they got me home, so I would give them 5 out of 5 on that. For equipment/maintenance, the only reason I gave them 3 out of 5 is because their trucks are well maintained and mostly new, their trailers are mostly ####, quite a few of them have SOOO many things wrong with them. They do a good job of buying new trailers pretty much every year, but they keep their older trailers in commission long after they should be. For example there are the brand new trailers that are in immaculate condition, but then there are trailers that are 10+ years old that have fallen into disarray but as long as it can still hold product they still use it, which can be a real problem when you get a trailer that definitely won't pass a DOT inspection, but this ties into the "Dispatcher/maintenance", area, if you tell the main guy for local runs about a trailer that has something seriously wrong with it, he will try and give you route that avoids DOT inspection sights so you can still deliver the load that is on the trailer, he has no qualms about getting a driver to haul an illegal trailer.

Pros

Good benefits, Good home time, Good trucks

Cons

Horrible Dispatch(specifically, the main guy for local runs [possible the driver manager]), pretty bad trailers that should have been taken out of commission but are still active.

The owner said everyone is equal but office people get much more than the truck drivers like 4 weeks vacation in 4 years opposed to truckers getting 3 weeks vacation in 5 years.

Pros

close to home

Cons

truck drivers get treated like low class citizens while Office people get treated differently

.40cpm on all miles always on Craigslist, no wonder why gross 685.00 net 300.00 been going on since January 2016. Always have to fight with pay roll. If you like fighting for your pay every payday Leonards Express is for you. They use to be a good company today that can't be said.Good Luck if you decide to drive for leonards 1100 mile weeks and always live unloading is for the birds.

I worked for leonards, drove regional 5 days a week. Didnt care to do long haul. i averaged close to 2000 a week not leaving the North east. i was home every friday and didnt leave till monday morning.

There is a reason why some drivers don't get miles, because the more capable drivers take it from them. Trust me, there were problems at leonards, but they always had the miles for me because i did my job and did it well.

i left leonards because i was offered a better job driving local and being able to come home every day. plus better pay. the only thing bad about leonards is the drivers there. bunch of cry babies who want something for nothing.

The drivers have more than ruined this place, with being lazy and crashes and just plain stupidity, they have no one to blame but themselves.

And oh yea, the have a first class payroll office, never once had a problem with them and my pay.

I worked there for 3 years doing there local gig out of scranton and they had there moments where they could piss me off but for most part they were fair to me, sorry you had a bad experience but like that last guy there was always plenty of loads to do. if you had Andy as your dispatcher that could have been your problem as he was a bad apple up there.. I would have stayed longer but moved and they didn't offer local where I moved to.
