Started off fine, 1 of 5 team drivers for fleet 220, consistent runs from El Paso to Oregon. Pay was horrible, hardly made over 1100 running as a team. Fuel/speed incentive was a joke, couldn’t make over 8.5mpg on the route they had us running, heavy loads, mountain terrain, had to go over a certain Mpg to get a higher speed allowance, never happened, probably went through 20 trucks being employed for 9 months, actually had to move out of 2 trucks in 1 day because of truck issues, and they don’t pay for down time when their maintenance team doesn’t fix KNOWN issues on a truck. One dispatcher was willing to leave a driver stranded in Idaho after he had surgery and tried forcing us to take his truck before he was able to get transportation back home in El Paso, had to spend 3 days waiting for the company to find a way to get him home. An OPs manager loved to belittle drivers over the phone “just shut up and do your D*** job” (her words), but will be the nicest person to your face. Co driver always had issues with the truck maintenance team, always took longer when he had to take the truck in for a issue. Only ever friendly to women and non-Caucasian’s. One month straight during the winter we got stuck on i-80 in Wyoming, consistent light loads, missed hometime 3 times in a row, including a family medical emergency. Longer we stayed the worse dispatch got, spent 4 days in Oregon dead heading to places just to find out they turned away 3 other drivers for the same load that didn’t belong to the company, changed pickup and delivery times without telling us then blamed us for not knowing. Threatened truck abandonment fees for leaving a truck at a terminal unless we delivered one last load (we were the only team in the area) Consistent battle to get paid the miles had us run (they send the approved route). Always had to track the miles we ran vs what they tried to get away with paying, pay very close attention to your settlement each week. Last dispatcher really did try, but his efforts were always cancelled out by the planners mistakes Shout out to the cafeteria people, Brisket burrito at the terminal was bomb

Pros

Communication was touted priority but platform science was Constantly broken or being upgraded. Created excessive work load on dms Common message w as dont call in we are swamped use platform. How ?? Its broke Couldn't be used unless dead stop GPS and work flow seldom full operational In 12 weeks barely made 7000 Home time was a joke once kept me out ten days past scheduled home time throwing handicapped wife into panic attacks Another driver missed numerous doctor visits and family events with his autistic kids No heart no soul honesty or integrity

Pros

None nada nothing battle from 1St to last to get any miles oh freight is slow stop at next several truck stops 20 22 out of 25 getting 2800 3000 miles a week

Cons

Starved me out in the most brutal way imaginable

mesilla valley not a good choice

mesilla valley not a good choice

Been at MVT since 2009. First as a company driver, now as an owner operator. (I bought the first company truck they gave me... It had 7 miles on it when I got it! 940k now!) They have always kept me rolling. Do they "suggest" you run harder by turning yourself on 10hrs or getting creative with your logging? Of course. That's their job. But, YOU are driving the truck. YOU decide when to start driving or not. Just because a voice on the end of a phone, or a message in the PeopleNet tells you to get moving, doesn't mean YOU HAVE to! Man up and just say "NO"! Once they clue in on the professional way you operate, they change their attitude and start working WITH you! They have no choice!

mesilla valley any good?

They'll keep you out for weeks at a time and will bug you to roll out the instant your 34 hour reset ends, even if that's at 2am.

I've talked to several of their drivers who asked me about working for us and they told me about that.

Mesilla Valley.....
I was quoted 165 for a line haul from tucson to blythe...central transport was paying me 200 for the same run...so, less than central transport
I called the number to complain about the bs ads, the one female that answers always says "have a nice day" then hangs up...Same result when emailing her...

Supposedly you win a harley if you have the best mpg in a year...LOL
So the guy doing 46 mph will win it, but the money he lost driving so slow could have bought 2 harleys!!

Their trucks are mostly pos and they don't get but like 8 mpg at speed which is 65 not 70 they say 70 but governed at 65 they don't hold to their word and not enough miles a week messilla valley transport is the worst company I have ever drive for and that list includes ptl but mvt is way worse
