Like anywhere else you work, Midwest does not come without frustrations. I have been an employee for almost 2 years. Pay is decent for what it is. I happen to work out of one of the areas where equipment does not come at will. That is the biggest complaint I have for this company. We get trucks from Michigan that are governed at 63 to 65. And we tend to see no new equipment.

Pros

I'm home every night and on the weekends mostly. We do work some Saturdays. I'm happy with the pay.

Cons

Equipment is horrible and maintenance takes forever.

Poor Mechanics, pay is way below standard, expect you to go even when roads are bad unless a weather emergency has been declared. They do give a bonus every 3 months but will take it for any reason they can Have a high turnover alot of driver's are rookies just out of school, you are home daily but not enough to enjoy as most days last 11 to 14 hours. company does offer benefits but they are high and insurance coverage is fair at best they don't pay full vacation or holiday pay only give you about three quarters of what your run pays which is a jip in itself.I would not recommend this company unless you are looking for part time or supplemental income this job is not a career job.

Pros

Home daily and that's it

Cons

Poor and expensive benefits especially family plan, paid by trip averages about .34 a mile at terminal I was at, very low activity pay never get a settlement sheet with your paycheck with the hours you work it breaks down to 14 to 15 dollars an hour average.

Pay is per route, not mileage. You can get great miles, but its meaningless. Equipment is kept nice, newer trucks have the newer technologies that are annoying. You are home daily unless you choose otherwise. Laid-back atmosphere.

Pros

Miles, home/life balance, well maintained equipment

Cons

Low pay, inconsistent routes, pay by the route vs. mileage

Dispatchers think their god. Trucks with 1 Million miles or more and used up seats. If it rains hope you like mud.

Pros

None

Cons

Lies and more lies

Definition of a nightmare trucking company. Pay is a absolute joke. You work 60+ hours a week for hardly $1000 gross a week. If you are not in the terminal managers club you will be treated like a second class citizen, especially at the St Paris OH terminal. Outside carriers get treated to first while company drivers get to wait for loads. Just an all around bad place to work that absolutely does not care about drivers. Do NOT waste your time with this place.

Pros

Home every day. Great beginner company.

Cons

Laughable management gets away with murder. Pay,especially at the St Paris terminal,is terrible.
