If you’ve ever dealt with a lease purchase company. Then you know the headaches that come with them. The best part about this company is that you can walk away from the lease with no problems. The trucks are pieces of crap! I had two different trucks within two months. The first truck broke down within my first two weeks. I was without work for the following two weeks. Paid $300 per week while waiting for the truck to be repaired. Once I got the truck back. I worked for a week and then I was down again for more repairs. Down for another week while being charged for the truck payment, trailer insurance, the Qualcomm & etc... Got the truck back on a Thursday and it was broke down again that Saturday. Now I’m looking at a month into this with no real paycheck. Then I was asked to find a way back to the terminal to pick up another truck. I drove this truck for a week and then I was down again for another two weeks with no pay all while being charged. The terminal manager tried to get me paid, but there must’ve been a miscommunication between him and payroll. I was still being charged and the money he asked payroll to pay me. They used it to clear up my negative settlements. Got the truck back two weeks later and it was back in the shop the same day for another week. After I got the truck back, it was a slew of problems that followed there after. Smaller problems, but problems nonetheless. Problems that had to be paid for by me, because I was told that I needed to take “ownership” of my truck and I needed make the necessary repairs myself. HOW? When I haven’t made a decent settlement since I’ve been working here! Spending close to $2,000 off my credit cards for different minor repairs. I gave it a go again. With my truck running decent for a couple of weeks and down for the next. I did that from March to June. I made one decent settlement while working here for a little more than $1500.00. Every other settlement I received was less than $1,000.00. There’s no way you can make that work as an Owner Operator especially when you have a truck that you don’t know from day to day if it’ll survive your first unload of the day. With that unsurety I finally gave up. I suggest you get your own truck with a warranty and at least $,5000 or more for some financial backing for life’s unexpected problems.

Work aggregates division, some pros are home daily cons long hour’s dispatch is not accordingly given lot of empty miles no fuel surcharge yea they give you fuel 2 bucks a gallon but they run you empty so your actual fuel cost is 3 bucks a gallon, constantly going for truck inspections, every 3 months they tell if you don’t like it hit the door.

Pros

Home daily and weekend

Cons

They own your truck and trailer

The way in which the company (especially the lady in charge of dispatching -Yadira-) is working right now is unethical and unfair with all the employees. It does not make sense that just a very small and recurrent group of employees have the benefit of working the better trips and routes. Even though I can understand seniority could be playing a role in these decisions, it is unjust for the rest of the staff. The job was given to them, and they count on it. I hope this critic will be taken seriously, this is a prestige company, I'm very proud to be part of it, and I am sure that if you take a moment and ask randomly to the employees, you will received a similar feedback of the majority of them. Please, I hope you will take action in this situation. Do not risk a strong action with the majority of your employees for ignoring or pretending nothing is happening because the preferences of this employee (Yadira) and that small group of drivers I told you before.

The company is not the worst the dispatchers are specially CHARLIE over in Bartow/Metromont he has his little crew that he feeds all the good loads to and if he asked you for a favor and u decline to the bottom of barrel you go is sad that everyone knows he's getting paid off and none of the management does anything about it

Pros

Theres money to be made specially over at Metromont

Cons

Get rid of CHARLIE Get rid of CHARLIE Get rid of CHARLIE

They have a yard in Palatka, [ go by there several times a week ] never see trucks sitting there very long, seem to stay busy.Plenty of trailers,I notice many different O/O trucks, do not seem to stay very long. Just what I have noticed.

I've been with them for about a year now, I don't have any real issues. Home every weekend. I could stay out if I choose too. I'm leasing a truck from them. Not exactly the greatest but it gets the job done. I run for the palatka terminal. They r good folks. They will help you with whatever you need. The freight is easy. Never any issues. It's all flatbed so you know. They do have a tanker decision and a sister company which hauls sand. Hope this lil overview helps.

I worked for Newline for 8 years, on and off. I worked myself to death and couldn't pay my bills. Deadhead milage was incredible, more empty miles than loaded an very little was paid for loads. A 36% broker fee was taken before fuel or other expenses leaving me with about 42 cents per mile, most of the time. I was lucky to get out while I still had a house to live in.

Operated out of the Miami terminal.
