This company cares about one thing, $$$. Care about that too, they are your best friend. Play stupid games, win stupid loads. They are the most safety minded company I've seen yet; and not with a mountain of rules, but with helping you figure out for yourself what is safe. Maintenance needs help, they care too much about saving money and not enough about being safe; they will limp almost any truck back to Chicago rather than fix it on the road.

Pros

good loads, good safety.....yeah

Cons

head mechanic is too stingy, cares too much about $$$ and not enough about a safe truck.

If you want to know about Silvicom, ask someone who has been a driver for Silvicom for years. Better yet ask a veteran driver with 2 million plus miles who has worked for dozens of companies since 1998 and who has been with Silvicom for 5 years. Personally I have never made $2k and even $3k checks per week with anyone else as a non owner operator. I pay nothing out of pocket, and I have averaged $1,600 to $2,200 a week take home pay during periods that I could run. I have gone through Cancer and had to leave Silvicom twice for chemotherapy and an eventual operation. I have been offered new trucks each time I returned to Silvicom to work. I have never ever been treated so well by any trucking company that I have worked for. I started with Silvicom in July of 2015. And they have been outstanding. Silvicom is not for beginners. This company will not hold your hand but they will give you all of the tools to make great money. If you work for Silvicom now, and you need help with E logs, or you are having other issues. Ask Dee or Alex or Nena to give you my cell #. I would be happy to share my experience and help you with Elogs etc. . tell them you want help from Will in truck 441. Most of the negative experiences I see on this forum are due to inexperienced drivers who never were self sufficient. If you are good at what you do, stay with Silvicom. In my opinion you can't do better if you chose the OTR life. In the past 22 years I have pulled flat bed, tank, double tank, dry box, reefer, dry doubles, intermodial container. I have done City P & D, regional, linehaul, LTL, truckload, Expedite, Hazmat, and dedicated. You can not beat Silvicom for Solo pay and brand new equipment. The rest is up to you. Make the best of it and you will be happy and earn way above average $$$$.

Pros

Outstanding pay. New equipment

I have been reading different review about silvicom and i really felt bad reading some horrible comment about what some drivers has experience with silvicom.. Well i am a currently working with Silvicom, i dont really have anything bad to say about this company because 1... They give me the opportunity to work with them ...2 .. They always take care of my truck and sometimes when am running out of cash , they give me cash in advance and also when am in Chicago , the hiring Lady Nena always make sure i get a hotel room to stay ... 3; They are not perfect, but they are not as bad as some drivers are painting them to be , AND you can't satisfy every driver but i believe they can improve on how driver get paid .. They want you to send the BOL via trippak which i dont really like but at the end of the day you get your pay in full... 4 ; Anytime i want home time, they always do their best to get home on time and i can stay as long as i want, in closing , i will recommend silvicom to any driver with hazmat endorsement who is looking for a company that will treat you like family ... NOTE: I am not a Russian or from Eastern Europe , i am from Africa and they are not paying to write this review , what am writing is my experience with silvicom... So if you are looking for a driving position , give silvicom a try because your safety and happiness is their No1 Priority... I AM NOT SAYING THEY ARE THE BEST COMPANY , BUT ASKING FOR WHICH IS BETTER......Happy New Year..
