Never trust the company you dedicate yourself too. On Jan 3 my awesome safety director called to check on me (saying he didn't know I was out sick). Also to tell me I no longer have a job. With that being said my insurance was cancelled. I was told cobra information would be mailed within 30 days. Until then I have nothing. And I'm to weak to call about insurance. My words to Hugh Hinton owner of Sterling Transport May Our Lord shine down on you as you shine down on others.

This is from a Driver that was out of work Battling Cancer.. Just saying...

They don't try to hide anything, your pay printouts will show what you made and what the truck made on the load so there's no guessing. Pay is bi-weekly, 2 weeks vacation after a year. I worked for them for a short period of time here in Florida hauling fly ash, wish I was still with them but some things don't always work out. There's a few little things in their benefits package that are nice such as a weekly guarantee, it's not much somewhere around 500, but if for some reason the truck doesn't work for reasons such as weather or breakdowns, it's nice to know you have that to fall back on. They pay demurage after 2 hours, it's not much, maybe 12 an hour if I recall but it helps.

Update on Sterling as I have been working here for 6 months. New mack tractors spec 'd for light weight. Straight fleet truck with the cheapest options available. Trailers are terrible. Just keep using band aids to keep them going. Pay can be real good if you stay on high paying loads. Paid percentage. Not perfect but no job is.
