Drivers don’t let these companies thank there interviewing you! You need to be interviewing them!! They need you more then you need them! If you are going to lease a truck you should pick where you run and how much you make! Most should be getting 82% of what the load pays and if that load not pay at lest $1.89 a mile then don’t do it the deal. All lease drivers should be going home with $1,800 and up every week. If your making anything less stay as a company driver!

Pros

Can’t thank of really any for doing a lease deal with theses bottom feeders!

Cons

Most everything! If your going to live in a truck then make sure your going home with at least $1,400 a week as a company driver!

Sadly today I have to give a review I was hoping I would never have to. First off I was there 4 months only home 3 days of that. I wasn’t forced to do that but when I took 2 days off for Christmas it made my settlement $112 I took off a day to get Married and it was $250 so in reality you have to stay out or not make money at all. I admit I bought into the whole “Dollar with the date on it” to buy the truck at end of lease and left orientation feeling like a business owner that feeling was short lived. 4 short months later due to untrained fleet managers and a upper management that has perfected the art of lying and tricking drivers out of the little income they actually earn I’m forced to give up the dream of owning a truck here’s why. 1. The “Warranty” will cost you over $70,000 total in the end. I could just buy a spare truck for that. 2. Truck and warranty will cost you a total of $300,000 at the end of lease and they expect that paid back in 5 years or less that’s highly unrealistic for anyone and still provide for their family. 3. FSC is .15 that’s about.10 less then it should be. Please WFX share your formula on how you come up with your FSC Whats your baseline? What MPG do you use I was getting 5.8mpg someone else was getting 8.1 how do we all get same FSC? When does go up or down how about a msg on Qualcomm. 4.Just because your out on the road doesn’t mean your making money. Loads cancel and FM’s fail to react to the situation in real time so you end up sitting for free. A few days of that and some short runs you have no choice but to take and your setting yourself up for a bad week. I was out all week didn’t refuse work at all stayed engaged with FM the whole time and stayed positive believing in the system well this week I will have a settlement for -$315 and again I was out there doing the best with what I could control. All they said was sorry next week “I’ll get you tons of milea promise” Thanks I get to work twice as hard just to break even. They have a system in place that’s took years to refine to the point you will have to stay out to be successful and your gonna need a whole lot of luck on top of it. 5. Detention is paid whenever and for whatever amount they feel like. So don’t count on any extras like layover scale reimbursements without a fight. When you hear “We’ll take care of you” that means maybe if we remember. 6. A Class Action Lawsuit currently in court backs me up here. You will not make $2000 in a week ever! They need to stop promoting that as a possibility. Have them show you the math that takes you all the way to getting to that amount. So take it for what it’s worth or don’t it’s just the experience I had. I worked hard there pushing the limits sometimes to deliver a load sacrificing my personal life just to be forced out by things I didn’t control. So congratulations to the Owner and Top Management you are experts in tricking drivers out of money they need for their families. Job Well Done! You should be proud of yourselves. Once again greed has won over decency in American. If they try to cheat me out of my last settlement like I’ve heard they do so many times I will be personally offended and take aggressive action and post the outcome.

Pros

Maintenance Department did the best they could with management controls

Cons

Just avoid the Lease Purchase Plan plan and simple way to many options out there to mess with this kind of thing.

I have been with WFX since June 2019 and in my 28 years of driving otr, this is the best company. If you would just drive the truck, you will make money. If you sit at home all the time, you won't.

Pros

Great pay, good FM's, great miles. Great equipment, reasonable deductions.

I came to work at wfx for the money, plain and simple. With the way they have the truck payment set up, you get penalized for the more miles you do. $145 + .23 cpm. Plus they deduct. 12 cpm maintenance fee on top of that for a brand new truck. Now, let's address the issue of miles, you can get miles if you run otr. Not south of i 40. I turned in 4300 mi, received 1700. They acted like that was a lot of pay for those miles. Let's address the issue of a new trk. You will not get a new one. They will lie to you. Now, the maintenance fee. That only covers scheduled services. Blown tires will be charged back to you. Let's do the math, .12 cpm x 100000 miles a year equals to $12000, one oil change at 75000 miles. Figure out how much they are pocketing. Its a maintenance fee not a warranty. Now my issue, signed on in January. Ran every mile I could and wasn't seeing the bring home pay I was told. The owner randy came in a showed some slides and said this driver brought home 2500 this week. Showed several ones. Had every driver in orientation pumped up ready to go. I stuck with it for 5 months trying to make it work. Then a couple weeks ago, I was in Houston TX. Had my first accident in 28 yrs o driving. Just so happens I hit a Lamborghini at 830 at night. Didn't see him on my blind side. Without telling me, they held my pay. Then last Sunday I had one of my drive tires blow out. The next morning I got a call from maintenance. The man was very condescending and told me that they were going to charge it back to me at which I got pissed. Now let me remind you, I have worked 2 weeks with them holding my pay. I still was going to try and work things out. They gave me a load going to California, I headed that way. At 500 pm they sent me a msg to drop it on the yd in okc, then gave me a load going to Sacramento, got to the yd, safety man met me in the shop told me to come and fired me, no way home all my stuff in my truck no money because I just worked the last 2 weeks without pay. Now you make your own decisions if you really want to work there.

They are starting experienced drivers out at .34 a mile. I have 13 years and they told me .34 a mile. That's no money and that's all I needed to know about them.

I am currently employed with western flyer xpress and I HATE it! Worst L/P EVER!! I've been here almost a month and I was told by my recruiter that my first check would be between $800 and $900! In reality, it was $311.00!!! My second check I was told would be about $1500! My check was $3400 but all I got of it was $595.00!! The company took the rest! They force you to buy a bumper guard for $1,500 ($100.00 a week til paid for). They route you and tell where to fuel! I signed a contact for a 2014 Freightliner Cadcadia (junk) but was actually assigned a 2013 Freightliner Cascadia! Supposed to be governed at 70mph, try 64mph on peddle AND cruise!! Truck won't pull hills for ##### and tranny slips when downshifting to 8th and 7th going up hill! My APU has stopped blowing hot or cold air!! I told my dispatcher I need to be routed to the terminal to have my truck fixed but he said "Deliver the load to Auburn, Washington and then we'll route you to Ok City!" Are you serious!?! I told him, I can't afford to idle my truck for warmth, because the fuel money comes out of MY pocket!! So he offers to put $150.00 on my EFS card so I can stay in a motel room on my 10 hour breaks!! Hi never agreed to this but he put the money on my card then sends me a message on my Qualcomm regarding the "Cash Advance"!?!? What's the difference if I idle and lose money or they take my money for #### advances for motel rooms!?!? Also with the lease, you can have a dog up to 30lbs for a NON REFUNDABLE $500.00!! $1000 if you want a cat!!! Basically you're a company driver who is paying for their junk equipment!! Also it's forced dispatch!! If I'm leasing the truck I should be able to refuse loads!! They charge you for everything!!! Your best bet is to just stay away!!!!!

Wait till you quit and they put BS on your DAC report. They put on my DAC report that they had a lot of complaint about me. That was BS. They never once called me into the office about any complaints.

Glad somebody got on here and told the truth about thier

Lease scam.its sad.

Used to be a great OTR job when they had just company drivers there.

I left about 6 months after they started leasing trucks.

They ran most of the company drivers off.

Truth is they don't want company drivers anymore,

I was in the shop office when they were adding up how

Much money they could make of the .10 cpm maintence

Fund that they charge lease drivers on new trucks that already have a full warranty.

3000 miles a week, that's 300 bucks per truck for nothing

More than tires and cosmetics, and they do all the work in

Thier shop. Multiply that by a 100 trucks that's 30,000 per week and I'm sure they've got more lease drivers than that now.

It's a gold mine for them.

Not to mention leased drivers:

Pay all thier income taxes themselves:

Pay all tolls out of thier pocket:

No pre pass or ez pass:

Breakdown you pay for the motel room.

They will not keep you on that run, they offer these loads to get you in the door. They are finding it harder to get drivers to work for them, the word is getting out how they lie and rob drivers. They also use a off site recruiting service to get more drivers and they lie to get there money for each driver they get to work there. If you go you will find out.
