Home weekends as promised. One dispatcher to work with on loads. Mostly drop and hook on 30% pay. Easy to scan paperwork from your phone. $1250 week guarantee, however I have exceeded that every week since the first week. Staff is courteous and professional, and allows you to manage your workflow. They have 24/7 support for breakdowns, logs, and emergencies. Most definitely a family atmosphere where you are appreciated.

Pros

Weekly pay, keep you running and making money, communicates next load in advance, home every weekend, staff all demonstrate courtesy and professionalism, newer clean equipment and drop and hook runs.

Cons

Orientation lacks covering workflow processes leaving many questions just starting out. Recruiters do not know the operations and processes firsthand which creates misunderstandings. (ie: $1250 guarantee is average of two weeks, Fueling at Love's; not most truck stops, benefits start at varying times; not 90 days, choice of transmission; mostly manual 10 speeds with new trucks being mostly automatic) Terminal does not have showers.

I was on the maola account with brown out of Newport News ,va. Guess it started up in July an I got hired on in aug.I guess it’s the lowest paying account they have. Well in fact it is the lowest paying they have . I have a co worker that was leaving due to pay an Tracie told him it’s the lowest pay . showed him over the rd drivers check stub to get him to stay .But the dispatcher Tracie fake an shady, but good long as you kissing her behind an sucking up too her. Long as things going her way.Girl April working with her out of Richmond same. Nite guy Robert out of Lexington don’t wanna do his job . He expects you to communicate with him but he barely answer his phone at night!have to call more than once sometimes twice . A lot of confusion. Unorganized. They expect you to jump an work when they need you. They have something called stand by pay . Only good thing of that you can be on stand by all week an get paid $200 per day. Loads 3 or more hours late an they expect you to continue to run them. They look out for who they want to look out for. It’s a lot of the drivers tell dispatcher what they going to do an not going to do so she’ll come to the relax ones that don’t say much to cover what her refuser’s don’t do. Pay sucks , Trucks are 10 speed but she have some that can’t drive them an they have automatic trucks.when they stress to you that they only have 10 speeds! The 7 eleven runs/wal mart runs you don’t get extra money to off load and the off loading is a nightmare cause they not loaded correctly. Better hope your power jack work or hope you even have one.Your co workers will know everything about you before you know!!

What a joke for a company. Promise you 900 a week was luckey to get 300. Dispatchers to busy playing video games try calling in to get a trailer repair expect to sit all night or day on the side of the road if your luckey they pay you otherwise you have to wait a week for makeup pay. Just in general a screwed up company that is waiting to go out of business. STAY AWAY

Pros

NONE absolutely none

Cons

Screw with your pay and expect you to fix thier junk trailers

If I would’ve been told at any time that my check would possibly be under 500$ a week. We could’ve saved everyone time and money. I gave them 4 months ran out of Jacksonville dispatched through big Chris Lil Chris and Brian. I was told in orientation pay would be 11-1300$ a week. Long story short the four weeks I did work there I made right at 1700$. I was given a brand new cascadia freightliner 2020 tractor with 316 miles to be exact. When I and my son who followed me from Ocala to Jacksonville to deliver the same brand new 2020 cascadia freightliner which know had 8,779 miles from one month of hauling and like I say bringing in right at 1700$ For the month. The decision to politely hand back their keys and tractor to them was not hard at all. Completely insulting in my opinion honestly. The reward is not worth the risk of my life and others. The staff in Lithonia by far are a class A staff. But there is no way I can allow myself to receive a 437$ a week check. DRIVER BEWARE.

I worked for Brown of Lithonia. My gig was a dedicated run out of the Rock Tenn plant in Stevenson, AL. Started out with a 800 a week guarantee that disappeared. Then the mile went to crap and couldn't make it on 4-500 a week so I left. They aren't horrible, some trucks are good others are garbage. I think you need 3 years experience to get on with them. In their defence the route I had was set up all wrong and after our dispatcher quit it went to hell anyway. I miss being home every night but I don't miss brown. All I pulled was roll stock and scrap cardboard with the occasional load of boxes. boxes were light the rest would top you out all the time.

I worked for them as a Local guy out of the Rock Tenn plant in Stevenson, AL as a company driver. They started out with a guarantee that went away after 2 months and then the miles were so low that I had to quit. Your loads are mostly going to be roll stock, scrap cardboard, or corrugated boxes. Most of the time you are going to be heavy, and a lot of the time you are going to be top heavy. When I was there a year ago they were having a hard time keeping any kind of driver. As far as Im concerned the pay was too low for anyone to make a decent living. Your results may vary though.
