Pros
Very good fuel discounts at TA/Petro and Loves
Cons
Too many to list
Current Employee - Oct 15, 2020
Pros
well its a job I guess...
Cons
Ridiculously high escrow. They charge $1000 per year for electronic logs and on board camera Their freight is extremely seasonal. Forced dispatch. Overall they treat their owner operators like company drivers and pay some of the lowest rates in trucking for specialized freight.

I have run beside them never leased to them. Yes they get 10 g's to put a blower on your truck. Won't tolerate over weight at all. If you are heavy 80 is all they will pay you for. Really though none of us want to run heavy anymore so that isn't a big deal. They are a good bunch to work for. I have heard hoppers and dumps don't make the best money but the pneumatic division does quite well.
I haven't pulled a tank in several years hopefully they haven't changed much

Yes still clean shaven, clean truck, picky about appearance of both, blowers are $1000 down and pay off over time, pneumatic guys are top money, then end dump then hoppers

Lug-nut keep in mind that I am just now leasing on so I can't give you an "experienced answer" but this is what I have been told. Also I am going to do end dump rather than pneumatic.
License plates and permits are provided by Oakley, no charge back to the o/o.
Truck insurance is 3.67% of the value of your truck. So I am going to be paying $225.84 a month based on my truck value at $80,000. Bobtail insurance is $7.25 a week. Rider policy insurance is $11 a month.
The recruiter asked me if I could run at least 3,000 miles a week. Which is what I usually shoot for anyway. Being that I live in Ohio he said I could be home every weekend if I wanted. Best bet is to call them and tell them where you live and ask about home time. I told him I would rather stay out 3 weeks then take 5 days off and he said that was fine too.
I didn't really go into detail about the forced dispatch, he said you will sit down with your dispatcher and you will get to tell him/her what your preference is. If you don't like a load you aren't absolutely required to take it. As far as I'm concerned, if they keep my truck moving I won't complain. But that's just me.

They are force dispatch they are paying you for all miles. If they tell you to go to Texas from Michigan to get a load for Florida you go they are paying you by the mile. Some people must realize all company's paint a real good picture to get you to work for them. Wish you well with them they are honest and a pain about safety by this I mean if you forget to dot an i or cross a t you will get all your paper work back. Most leave cause of time off issues not getting home and once home bugging you to get back to work. End dumps do better then pneumatic cause after each load you have to find a tank wash and get washed out plus it take an hour to unload. You will do better and have more home time and pass by the house with the end dump.
