I was teamed with Anti-American that said th US should change to be more like Israel. We have stupid rules and need to change. I invited him to go back to Israel. The next co-driver has an alternative life style and it was very uncomfortable just being around him. I was then contacted by a local (Bakersfield) driver that stated she would do all the paperwork, but I would do all the trailer drop and hooks, because she is a girly girl. The last driver I was going to be teamed with smelled like no shower in forever & his tractor smell was so bad I almost threw up. I would love to still be driving BUT I just cannot find someone who is willing to drive, do their share of the work both driving and physical work. I have retired, and do not need to work but I like driving and who doesn’t like extra $$$$

Pros

Great lane and good equipment Recruiter Trevor Walker was great to work with DM Danielle was a pleasure to work for.

Cons

Terrible choices for a co-driver

I delivered for CRST to JoAnn Fabric stores in the Midwest and northeast. If JoAnn hadn’t canceled their contract with CRST (due to another trucking company under bidding CRST), I’d still be driving for them. The pay was more than fair (most money I ever made in trucking). I had a newer Freightliner that drove great. If maintenance was ever needed, it was usually easy contacting someone to help get setup. And my dispatchers we’re friendly, helpful, and available when I needed them. If a driving opportunity similar comes up again in my area, I’ll be back with CRST quickly!

Pros

Great pay, good equipment, nice dispatchers

Cons

Optimized idol in trucks (hard to sleep thru)

CRST

CRST stay away from this company. They don't care about their drivers. They only care about their bottom line. They have a steady flow of students coming in because they have such a high turnover rate. Also the type of people they hire are careless and not the type of people one would want on the road. They get ten grand a head from the government for each student they pass and then charge the student like eight grand for the training. Then charge them 40 bucks a week for yen months to pay them back. Let's talk about their DMs... Only there for a check. Some are great while others get fired quickly. I've been here a little over a month and have had three different DMs so far. Also haven't broke a thousand dollars yet either. They lie to you on just about every thing your recruiter tells you and they also don't yell you that you have to pay for your own drug test. CRST has made their millions by screwing people over. I am currently looking for another job as I have givin them my two week notice today. I have never quit a job before having another one in place until today. I highly advise everyone to not only stay away, but run from this company. They suck!!!

CRST

This is a very unethical company. I got my CDL from them and completed an 8 month contract. They were advertising a new pay raise which they gave me a .01/mile, but then took away the safety bonus. I did the math and I came out ahead without the .01 raise if I had kept the bonus. They would add money on my pay stub like I had earned, but never paid. So, at the end of the year it shows I made more, but I never got it. If your co-driver quits, they pay you .21/mile while your delivering their loads until they find you another co-driver.

crst a BAD decision for me!!

I was exited about re-entering the trucking industry after an 11 year hieatas to try my hand in horticulture/landscaping and took the option for a fast track back with crst.I had to start from the beginning on my cdl and with a guaranteed job what could possibly go wrong? Well , PLENTY!! First I was surprised at the very little actual training and road testing, that would let way, under experienced students on the road. My lead driver trainer was a complete Night mare, and I very quickly found out that the company or at least with my driver manager don't want to hear any complaints out of you ... PERIOD!! My co-driver had no business driving a car,let alone a semi and no matter what I tried ,he was too lazy to do any better. When your co-driver puts himself in a bind, you are right there with them, your fault or not! (of course you don't get a ticket from police/dot ) but you get wrote up for being late just the same.I was terminated and had to pay my own way home to Tennessee from California ,for something I did not do! They tell every one that I apply to that I am still under contract ,wont re-hire me and are suing me for $6500. GO somewhere else while you still can!
