Joining the Gold Rush Team at CRST has been a life changing Journey. The company has taken very good care of me and I have a great DM that keeps me moving the first Two trips I got with my permanent Co-Driver was 2800 miles each trip. I have been on the road for 8 weeks now including my training and haven’t taken home time yet because I’m in this for the long haul and here to maximize my income. I am very happy working for CRST. I have an awesome Co-driver that I met during school and we both are so very excited about this life adventure we are taking!!!

Pros

Great Pay

Cons

Sometimes I wish I could just relax on the Couch and watch my favorite TV show but I’m on a mission so I will just settle for watching my fav shows on My phone

Wonderful place to start in the industry. If you want to work and do your job the opportunity is here. I'm thankful for having such a wonderful Driver Manager that is on top of his game always have a load waiting before I am even finished with one so miles are never an issue. They have nice new equipment but I'm still new so I have an older truck which = more problems with the truck but they get it fixed when needed no problem. 90% of loads are Drop and hook which is nice. Every co driver that has asked for home time it was granted with no issues. Good pay comes with experience just like in any job.

Pros

Awesome Driver Manager, great loads and miles. Great starting company.

Cons

Some of the maintenance yards aren't the best just got to put your foot down and tell them the problem.

This company is the worst. They will hire anyone with a pulse that can pass a drug test. Their DMs are just terrible. HR is a joke and so is upper management. Payroll is so used to complaints due to their sloppy practices, that they stopped taking calls. From any employees. Currently I am owed nearly $400.00 and nobody takes my call. Drivers lounge are unbelievably trashy and run down. I wish I could post pictures. I'm just trying to finish my contract and go to work someplace else.

Pros

Get your CDL.

Cons

Too many to mention other than low low pay.

The training was worse than boot camp, at least boot camp feed you 3 meals daily. Got terminated for doing the speed limit. Now trying to get with another company 2 years later and I'm suddenly under contract with them and they won't release my info to anyone, including me.

Pros

Pays better than nothing and helped me get my CDL.

Cons

Some trainers shouldn't be trainers, some DM's will send you into blizzards and not care if you aren't taking loads, hr is a complete joke, will fire you for stupid reason, is the lowest paying large trucking company in America, they put the minimum amount of money into their physical assets excluding the parts where people above a DM work, and will lie to you just to get whatever they need.

I started at CRST, was it easy? NO. Anything worth having g is worth working for! I was very lucky in the fact that I had a good trainer..he wasn't perfect but taught me my job! Team driving is Hard anyway you look at it. The WORST thing about CRST is finding a good driving partner I had a hard time doing that. One was an overbearing, know it all racist, the other actually had a mental disorder and would not drive o er 59 mph or at night! Because of the "Partners" I did end up moving on. I DO NOT regret my time at CRST. I personally did make decent money because I worked my ### off!! 10 hour driving days EVERYDAY. You get out of it what you put in!!

Pros

They keep you moving. If you didnt go through their in house training, you will make money..at least I did!

Cons

Trucks are old and DIRTY! Finding a suitable partner is next to imposible.

which company?

CRST Van Expedited will send you through a 2 week course, enough to teach you how to get your CDL, Then you would go out with a lead driver for approx. 28 days. If the lead driver passes you (which most do), you are labeled a co-driver, and you team up with another co-driver to complete your 8 month term commitment.
