First Choice was founded in September 2001 by Carla Luig in her own home. Carla Luig, President and Chief Executive Officer of First Choice Transport in Fort Worth, will never forget the day she started her trucking and transportation business.
The company’s first load was scheduled to be picked up at 6 a.m. in Fort Worth, Texas. The date was Sept. 11, 2001. First Choice still managed to complete the job despite the tragedy and confusion of that fateful day.
Today, 10 years later, the transportation firm has grown from two employees to nineteen, from three owner-operator trucks to 115 and from zero to 250 trailers. First Choice Transport has experienced steady growth and ongoing success. First Choice is an interstate and intrastate trucking and transportation operation that services customers in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas Kansas and Missouri. Based in Fort Worth, the company also provides brokerage service to 42 additional states, as well cross-dock, partial load, consolidation, warehousing, and multi-stop services.
