General Trucking is southeast Michigan’s premier transportation provider since 2006. With one of the largest fleets in the state we can meet any and all customer needs.
In the summer of 2006, an idea to form a transportation company was conceived by Irman Islamovic and Emil Jakupovic. Based on a long family history in the transportation industry and their diverse backgrounds, the founders knew they could develop a successful business serving the growing logistical needs of a global economy.
First order of business was choosing a name, many ideas were thrown around but General Trucking stuck as long lasting and clearly tied to the nature of business.
On November 14, 2006, the company begun operations with a single power unit and a 45,000 pound load of pickles from Michigan to Delaware. Although heavy and demanding, the load was successfully delivered. The initial years continued to be challenging with many rough patches along the way, nonetheless, the company continued to persevere. Since then we have grown to become one of the largest and most capable logistics providers in southeast Michigan. Today, we are equipped to handle your most complex logistics needs from freight distribution across US, Mexico, and Canada, to warehousing, and transporting time-critical shipments .
Even though we have grown exponentially over the years, our humble beginning is still engrained in our roots. We treat every load as if it were our first one by recognizing its priority to our customer and by following through on our commitment to delivering world-class logistics service.
