The last person I read told my story so clearly, I had to be sure I didn't write it, so I had to add my 2 cents. Milan is an awful company, poorly run with awful management. The equipment is awful, and calling breakdown is like asking for help in Mandarin from an English speaking 5 year. You'd better hope you don't breakdown at night, because you are going to be stranded. My trucks were rebuilt salvaged wrecked. The only good thing about Milan is some of the people and the pay

Pros

The pay for local drivers is good and No NYC

Cons

Awful, old savage equipment, unhappy office environment, micromanaging dispatch, and mean, hateful leadership

Would be a good company with better management and quality equipment. Communications could be greatly improved and they could take better care of their drivers

Pros

Good home time, decent pay

Cons

Mechanically unsound and dated equipment. Poor communications, too many phone numbers, awful breakdown department and limited dispatcher hours.

Management is awful and dispatch is incompetent with no power. The equipment is old and unsafe. You work hard, but the pay is good. You often do more physical labor than other companies. They lease many of their trucks, but company truck are pretty much salvage quality. I had two company trucks, both had almost 500,000miles on them and they were both rebuilt from wrecks. Neither of them had front curtains, or working drawers for your things, but the biggest thing is they were mechanically unsound. I didn't care about a new truck, I just wanted one that wasn't always leaving me on the side of the road. Breakdown was nonexistent, if you called especially on the weekend, they would leave you stranded. The only thing good about Milan is the pay. The company is small without 24 hour dispatch and if you need a load you have to wait until the planners come in in the morning. Also there is a different number for every dispatch. The is a number for your dispatch, the night dispatch and the weekend dispatch. The trailers are always very very old, but they will give you a good daily workout. The biggest thing is the safety guy is so harsh and critical, but they say he had a rollover. How can someone in that situation be so heartless? Most of Milan's drivers are there because of the pay

Pros

Good pay, home time, and no New York or New Jersey

Cons

Awful management, old unreliable equipment, dispatch is constantly disturbing your break, the worst breakdown department imaginable.

milan express

Anyone know what milan express pays per mile?

Depends on experience and driving record and all. The lowest I have heard of anyone being paid around here is .36 CPM. We all just got a raise not too long ago, so I am not sure.
