The auto transmtions they insist on are problematic at best. Some customers are risky. You might end up having to call the police. The dispatchers aren't always willing to work with you on those loads the second time around, and insist that you haul them. This also includes when you have insufficient hour to do the load. Don't work here if you don't have to. They only put on a "pretty face" at first.

Pros

At least the equipment isn't utterly broken, most of the time.

Cons

The auto transmtions can put you on the side of the road a lot. Some loads are forced regardless of HOS. Unsafe!

This company I worked for 7 months, Communication was horrible miles were low very difficult to survive...why I give them a bad stars is because I got Ill with covid went home for 2 weeks then returned to work and 3 weeks later got sick again and was sent home to follow up with a doctor....however a doctors appt usually takes time so 4 days later I'm told they can put me on a leave if I get a notice from doctor stating how long I'll be out...however doctor can't give a note when they don't have results or know what's going on...this leave the company tried putting me on would have shut my health insurance off....this means no health insurance yet they want me to see a doctor hmmm catch 22 ....I then called company told them on Friday waiting on blood work...on Monday no follow up from doctor or company then on Tuesday I get a call that I've been terminated ...Government says in the pandemic if ur sick stay home yet I'm home cause of illness and waiting for doc and company terminated me which ruins my dac report ...I do not even recommend this company because apparantly you cannot operate safely because of illness and your terminated because ur off too long and cannot get a crystal ball note and can't follow up with test without insurance ...bad business

Pros

No forcing great fleet leader and laid back on scheduling

Cons

Don't get sick or you get fired

Transport America

My husband and I have worked here for a little over a year now and I have to say it's a great company to work for. We are not new to this industry by any means and have been thru several other companies and this is this first one that I can honestly say cares about their drivers. The money is good if you're willing to keep the door closed and work. The benefits are good and the fleet leaders are extremely pleasant to deal with.

Transport America Opinion?

100% correct. I used to work for transport america and infact the only reason I left was due to snow storm and death in the family. it was the best company I ever worked for except for hometime. they kept trying to send me in the wrong direction of my house every single day of transit. other than that it was great. sorry for late reply

Lots of fed-ex freight. Embrace New Jersey. Every inch of it. You're going often. I personally like it, you reload quickly and on your way.

TRANSPORT AMERICA LEASE PURCHASE

TRANSPORT AMERICA LEASE PURCHASE

I'm not really looking for a bunch of beat downs. Lol. I've been driving for TA now as a company driver for almost a month now. So far I'm very happy here. All I know about their lease plan is you have to drive for them for 6 months before they will consider your qualified for their lease purchase. And that they have 3 different kinds of lease plan options. So far I'm impressed with the way they operate, and they have been treating me very well. I'm driving a nice 2015 Kenworth T-680, I get plenty of miles. If they run their lease plans like everything else I've seen here so far it might be worth looking into. I just wondered if there is anyone who has leased with them before, and what they thought about it?

I'm pretty certain I've finally found the company I'm going to stick with till I retire. I can buy a truck if I wanted one that bad. I have excellent credit and plenty of money for a down payment. I'm well aware most lease purchase plans are a ripoff. I'm just curious if anyone has ever done a lease purchase with TA and what their opinion of it was. I don't think this company is out to ripoff drivers. They actually do put the drivers first. It's not just a bunch of talk like most trucking companies are famous for.
